This screen is where all sales begin. For eyeglass and contact lens sales, a patient record is required. If a previous patient record exists in the store's database, it will be accessed and presented. It is also possible to search the central data base for records initiated at other stores. If no record is found, a screen for creating a new record is presented.
The transaction choices include services of doctors and contact lens technicians, sales of new eyeglasses, contact lenses, various parts, reading glasses, non-prescription sunglasses, various types of repairs, remakes, warranty work, and upgrades as well as the dispensing of goods or payment on account.
Experience shows that internal shrinkage and costly errors are related to lack of adequate documentation of services related to repairs, warranties, and remakes. Therefore, the program provides for extensive data-gathering in these areas.
